Herbs de Provence Steak Rub

An
absolute favorite go-to steak preparation. Make sure to find a quality Herbs de
Provence blend that includes lavender.

Servings
Four
six-ounce steaks
2Tbsp
Herbs de Provence
1½ Tbsp
sea salt
2 tsp
coarsely ground pepper
Combine
the Herbs de Provence, sea salt and ground pepper in a bowl. Dry steaks with a
paper towel, ensuring they are very dry. Generously cover the steaks with the
rub on all sides, pushing the rub into each steak. Let set at room temperature
for up to 30 minutes to give the rub time to integrate into the steaks.
Place steaks
on a hot grill for 3–4 minutes per side for medium rare on a one-inch thick
steak.
Remove
steaks from grill, place on a cutting board under foil and let them rest for 10
minutes before slicing and serving. Pairs well with oven-roasted potatoes and
grilled vegetables or with arugula and slivers of manchego cheese with a
balsamic vinaigrette.
