Zest! Cooking Camp for Kids

Zest! Cooking School will present
an exhilarating Cooking Camp for
young chefs to embark on a culinary
journey inspired by the bountiful
offerings of farmers markets and
the delights of garden cooking and
baking. Kids’ and teens’ cooking
instructor Gwen Eberly will ignite
confidence and creativity in the
kitchen while participants learn how
to use what is fresh and available in
our backyards and gardens. Farmers
Market, Garden Cooking and Baking Kids Camp sessions for ages
7 to 12 are 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., July 9 to 11, 2024; and Teen Camp sessions for ages 13 to 16 are 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., July 16 to 18, 2024.
Tomatoes, corn, squash and blueberries will be chopped, sautéed,
pureed, grilled and baked. From savory salsas to delectable fruit
tarts, every creation will showcase the flavors of the season and the
joy of cooking with wholesome ingredients. Eberly says, “My favorite part of the class is when the kids gather around the food with
tasting spoons and decide if their dish needs more salt, seasoning or
sweetness, and determine how to make it their own creation.”
