Support Series for Coping with Grief

The Pathways Center for Grief & Loss will present a six-week virtual
grief support series, From Surviving to Thriving, every other Tuesday from
February 28 through May 9, 2023, from 6 to 7:30 p.m, 2023. The group is for those which are
18 months or longer from the date of the death of a loved one.
The series offers the opportunity for
participants to reflect upon their current stress level and satisfaction in
different areas of life. Two of the sessions will focus on the basics of good
nutrition and the connection between eating healthy foods and better mental and
physical well-being. Educational tools and discussion will help participants
learn how they can thrive, rather than simply survive after a loss.
Group facilitator and bereavement counselor
Sonya Hershey-Velasco says, “Many people have a tendency to hibernate and
become less active in the winter months. If they are coping with the loss of a
loved one, they may be struggling with some physical aspects of their grief
experience. It is important to make a concerted effort to take good care of
yourself.”
Attendance is free with RSVP. Register by Feb. 17. For more information,
