Frosty Finds: Mid-Winter Foraging Walk

Deepen your relationship with the local landscape by learning the foundations of safe, ethical, and reciprocal foraging

Join us for our first monthly foraging walk of 2025!

In our temperate bioregion, winter is a lean time, contrasting starkly from the abundance of the approaching spring. But while many of the fruits and greens of the warm seasons have been reclaimed by the land to nurture the next crop, the adventurous and knowledgeable forager can still find plenty on the frosty landscape.

Whether you are interested in wild foods, local plants and ecology, or alternative uses for plants through wildcrafting and medicine-making, you're invited to join our Mid-Winter Forging Walk, taking place Sunday, February 2nd from 1pm to 3pm.

Along the way, we will spend time paying tribute to our long shared history with plants, looking beyond the question of "what can I eat?" on the landscape. We will also emphasize ethical foraging and ways of giving back to the land from which we’re taking–reinforcing how thinking like an ecosystem should guide the practice of gathering wild foods.

Beginners and experienced foragers are welcome.
